Sinopse
It is a unique performance combining sounds from a pocket trumpet with a series of musical automatons (built out of Meccano parts and gearings activated by small motors), which are capable of producing movement and percussion. The colourful mechanic orchestra originating from it randomly performs short, delightful and hypnotic pieces.
Born in 1953 (Paris), Pierre Bastien has been building his career and musical machinery for over 40 years. His creative territory is primarily a literary one. He feeds on surrealism and all the writings of André Breton and Raymond Roussel, on the poems drawn by Francis Picabia and on the imaginary countries of Henri Michaux. Internationally recognised, his list of collaborations is as colourful as a his music, including musicians Pascal Comelade, Robert Wyatt and Mats Gustafsson, video artist Pierrick Sorin and stylist Issey Miyake, among others.
