Sinopse

Constant uncertainty about what will happen tomorrow brings anguish about what we see around us. Unemployment leads to a difficult fight for survival and for integration into a society in which money is necessary for almost everything. “Inquietações” is also a look at the homeless. It is about feeling that this also our problem. How to maintain dignity in life when everything is lost? Are there ways of existing that do not depend on a resource for survival? To what extent does our happiness depend on financial stability? Plunged into breathless pace of our work, we remain far from what we believe is essential for existence: but is it not true that so many things, so many possession, so often distance from an idea of happiness? What does the meaning of ourexistence depend on? “Inquietações” examines the uncertainty of the place we take in society, of what we take as happiness, of what we take as life.

Joana Providência was born in Braga, in 1965. She first studied Classical Dance with Fernanda Canossa.
