With performing arts as the central theme, everyone is invite to this participative and enriching dialogue. At Teatro Municipal do Porto we incentive a broader involvement and audience participation through Meetings and Talks After Performances. The Theatre is a place where dialogue is important, reflection is pertinent and debate is fundamental. The meetings have a more formal structure. They approach specific topics and promote the articulation between artists and invited thinkers, inviting the audience to reflect upon the proposed topics. The talks after the performances open up the dialogue between audience and artists in a relaxed and informal setting. They are to be conducted by different guests who are challenged to watch the performance and conduct the talk afterwards. These guests develop their activities in areas that cross or are complementary to the work of the artists, contributing to a multidisciplinary vision and an enriching questioning.

Meeting with Jana Svobodová
O poder oculto do teatro
Since 2004, Archa Theatre has been working at various refugee camps located in the suburbs of the Czech Republic. At the time no one suspected anything. There was just overall fear regarding the presence of people with different cultures, religions and habits. Archa Theatre started what would lead to the elimination of fear on the part of the neighbours who where nearest the refugee camps. Jana Svobodová and her small team of musicians and performers moved into the camps to live there and listen to the stories. In this lecture, Svobodová will show a couple of real videos and slides to introduce this kind of artwork in the political context of our time.
