Sinopse

The question of translation, that is, how language, the hesitation before the word, can cross the space occupied by thought to the space of body movement; how the choice of movement is determined by an inner awareness of what is excluded (not chosen); how can thought be "performed".

Curated by Gabriela Vaz-Pinheiro
Guests Ana Mira + João Fiadeiro

Ana Mira (1976, Lisbon) is a dance and philosophy researcher, performer and writer. She studied contemporary dance in Lisbon, Amsterdam, London and New York. Influenced by the avant-garde movement, she began to make her dance performances in collaboration with dance, theatre, poetry and visual artists. As a dance performer she collaborated with Pauline de Groot, Russell Dumas, Deborah Hay and Rosemary Butcher.

João Fiadeiro (1965) belongs to the generation of choreographers who emerged in the late eighties in Portugal and gave rise to the New Portuguese Dance. Much of his training was done between Lisbon, New York and Berlin. He was a dancer with the Dance Company of Lisbon (86-88) and the Ballet Gulbenkian (89-90). He is the artistic director of ATELIER | RE.AL (founded in 1990) which, in addition to the creation and diffusion of his own performances – presented regularly throughout Europe, North America and South America – develops a program of artist residencies and presentations of transdisciplinary projects.
