Lisbon—an open, bright and warm city—welcomes Pina Bausch and its company, Tanztheater Wuppertal. They’re here for a three-week residency in response to an invitation from Festival dos 100 Dias: to create “Ein Neues Stück von Pina Bausch”. They arrive with eyes and ears wide open, and well-seasoned veins, paying huge attention to the signs, sparkles, sounds, perfumes and emotions brought about by the city. Then, as they evoke those special occasions in their lives, which the Lisbon breeze now intertwines, comes that so very rare moment when all this and all the rest gains a body of its own and a new soul under Pina Bausch’s mysterious genius. It shall be called: “A New Piece by Pina Bausch”. Or something else. And that will be the beautiful one: “Masurca Fogo”. – Fernando Lopes

Following the 7 pm session at Teatro Rivoli, dancer and choreographer Miguel Pereira will share his short professional experience with Pina Bausch in a informal talk with the audience.
