Sinopse
!!!
Relying on my sense of smell, I search
Turning round and round, it's not hard to find
But it is high, I cannot reach
I get so thirsty I can't stand it anymore
I drink water
In an increasingly digital and fast-moving world, there is a need to slow down and develop new presentation formats and, above all, new creation formats and working modes that will allow us to continue to consolidate artistic works, in the current reality. In a hybrid season between classroom and digital, the Teatro Municipal do Porto invites 8 artists for a special collaboration, designed specifically for online platforms, where a film director and a performing artist, in pairs, in an equal relationship , are invited to create a new digital object that crosses their universes and discourses. The moving image intersects with the areas of dance, contemporary circus, literature, theatre and animated forms, thus also allowing various audiences, even the most distant, to access these works.
DIOGO BALDAIA was born in Porto and grew up in the city of Maia. He studied at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in Lisbon, where he graduated in Directing and Image an did his Masters in Fine Arts at the KASK Conservatorium in Ghent, Belgium. He worked and lived in Brussels before returning to Portugal, where he currently lives between Porto and Lisbon. His films have been awarded and screened at national and international film festivals, such as the Rotterdam International Festival, Viena Shorts, Hamburg Festival, IndieLisboa, among others.
He is currently working on his first feature film.

In 2016, he co-created Água mole em pedra dura hard with a performance at the Trengo Festival de Circo do Porto, M.A.R. – Mostra de Artes de Rua, and other festivals. In 2017, he worked with João Pedro do Vale and Nuno Alexandre Ferreira, in Palhaço rico fode palhaço pobre for BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts. Participated in the creation of Companhia Erva Daninha – Savar AM. In 2018, he directed the Fractions of a Whole project, as part of the Imaginarius Festival. In 2020, he directs and performs Por um Fio, a production of the company Erva Daninha in co-production with the Teatro Municipal do Porto and is also part of the cast of the circus of the Coliseum in Porto. As a creator, the focus of his research is on the fusion of the circus with other artistic languages, in order to perceive the contamination that the disciplines have with each other, challenging new performative approaches and perspectives.
