Sinopse

In Age of Content we question our physical and emotional relationship to the abundance of content and simultaneous realities that characterize the world today. Our virtual worlds are no longer a simple representation of reality, they have their own and autonomous existence which directly influences the way we move and communicate. In this way, they are forming a multiverse where the principles of time and space are completely deconstructed, and in which we exist in multiple ways. In this age, where content becomes more and more important, boundaries between the real and the simulated become blurred. This leads to a unique phenomenon in the history of representation: an inversion of codes. Are avatars just a reflection of our bodies? Or are we driven by our multiple virtual identities? — (LA)HORDE / Ballet national de Marseille

Author's bio text

At the direction of CCN Ballet national de Marseille since 2019, the collective (LA)HORDE brings together Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel. Through films and performances (Novaciéries, 2015; The Master’s Tools, 2017; Cultes, 2019), and choreographic pieces (To Da Bone, 2017; Marry Me in Bassiani, 2019), (LA)HORDE interrogates the political component of dance and maps diverse choreographic forms of popular uprising, from raves to traditional dances, to jumpstyle. Their exploration of the new dynamics of circulation and representation of dance and body that develop online led them to create the concept of «post-internet dances». After Room With A View created in 2020 with Rone, they present a mixed programme with the Ballet national de Marseille reuniting Lucinda Childs, Tânia Carvalho, Lasseindra Ninja and Oona Doherty. By diversifying formats, (LA)HORDE questions the almost infinite serendipity that this new territory provides and proposes multiple perspectives on the uprisings of the communities with whom they work in a non-hierarchical way.
