Sinopse
Starting from the choreographic work of the show “Age of Content”, we will explore the body as a social and musical instrument, footwork as an instigator of connection between the spirit and the earth. Through small movement sequences and tools applied to improvisation, in this Warm-Up we propose slow and fast movements, inviting collective participation.

Melissa Sousa was born and raised in Venezuela, studied Contemporary Dance Interpretation at UNEARTE (Caracas) and social dances of the African diaspora such as HipHop, House, Tap, Body Percussion in New York. Winner of freestyle battles in Hip Hop and House. As a performer, she has worked with Sandrine Lescourant, Dana Foglia, Ladies of Hip Hop Festival, Alvin Alley school, Jorge Gonçalves, Joclécio Azevedo, Catarina Campos, Marco da Silva Ferreira, the duo Jonas & Lander, Bouziane Bouteldja, Jep Melendez. Founder of the LOOP Festival which ran between 2017-2020 and co-founder of the YOLK pedagogical project, focused on research, training and activism in the vernacular social dance community of the African diaspora such as HipHop and House. Creator of En el Vacío (2017), co-creator of BOWND (2019) and PLAYGROUND premiered at DDD - Festival Dias da Dança 2022. Currently developing the solo project TAMBOR (working title).
