I can see a cube. Is it a house? There’s noise coming from inside. What’s going on in there? All of a sudden, a flap opens. Could there be something inside? What could be inside? Or rather, who could be inside? Hermit is an imaginative performance about a tiny house. The owner isn’t home. But we can hear him… A performance about being alone and returning home. — Simone de Jong Company

The work of the Simone de Jong Company (Amsterdam) focuses on movement, music and imagination. Their performances are for everyone aged 2 to 7, and for all those wishing to be that old for a while. Their starting point is the physical, yet they aim at the philosophical. Simone de Jong has training in mimicry, modern physical theatre and musical theatre. She teaches both professionals and children, and she has written two children’s novels.
