Sinopse
April 24, 2013, in Savar, Bangladesh: a building col- lapses killing around 1127 people, mostly workers from the clothing industry that supplies several Western brands. The building collapsed at 8.45am, and only the ground floor was left untouched. This is a broad reflexion on the possibility of collapse, the frailty of systems, exploitation and the industrial system. Finding the post-collapse, rebirth, recovery and reconstruction after the destruction. One aims at establishing a documentary circus through dance, acrobatics, object manipulation, and a visual and sound installation. This performance takes us on a journey through alternative spaces other than the stage, following an industrial, multidisciplinary, and reflexive course.
Over the last 11 years, Erva Daninha has been focusing on developing contemporary circus. Its emphasis is on artistic creation, under the artistic direction of Vasco Gomes. It has produced over 14 performances for the stage, alternative spaces and public spaces. Since January 2015, it has been in residence at Teatro Campo Alegre, in the scope of the Teatro em Campo Aberto programme.
