Sinopse
Anacharsis’ millenary saying, “Laws are spider-webs, which catch the little flies, but cannot hold the big ones”, echoes in the contemporary world with disconcerting relevance. This performance aims at building a choreographic creation inhabited by issues such as diversity, choice, equality and freedom, and by the desire to become a tool with which to build justice. This creation questions justice, which often seems to us deceitfully immediate, inevitable and certain, until the moment when we witness the presence of injustice and we realise the former needs permanent care. — Joana Providência

Author's bio text
Joana Providência was born in Braga, in 1965. She started her dance studies under Fernanda Canossa. In 1989, she completed a degree from the Lisbon School of Dance. She has been a member of ACE School of Arts since 1995 as professor in charge of the movement department of the degree in performance. She is a member of the artistic direction of Teatro do Bolhão. She has developed her own composition language in her choreographic work, favouring the relation between performer and choreographer, based on a dialogue founded on the presentation of a series of proposals to which the performers develop answers.
Teatro do Bolhão was established in 2002 with the artistic direction of António Capelo, Glória Cheio, João Paulo Costa, Joana Providência and Pedro Aparício, who were later joined by António Júlio. Headquartered at Palácio do Bolhão, it has a synergetic relationship with ACE School of Arts, integrating the young trained professionals into a work team under constant renewal. Its education service promotes an ongoing relationship with the region through workshops, labs and the Portable Theatre, which brings literary works being taught at different levels of education to schools.
