Lafontana Formas Animadas

According to Greek mythology, after Zeus created the earthly beings, it fell to Prometheus and his brother Epimetheus to give each animal different natural gifts and abilities: some were given wings, others swift legs, sharp claws, protective shells, etc. When it came to man, who was supposed to be superior to the other animals, Epimetheus had already exhausted all his resources. His brother Prometheus then steals fire from the gods and offers it to mankind, thus ensuring man's superiority over the other animals, but provoking the wrath of Zeus. In this multimedia project, inspired by the Indonesian Wayang Kulit shadow theatre tradition, the characters are represented by articulated silhouettes, manipulated on a backlit base. The scenography uses video images and the manipulation of sand on this surface, creating designs and textures that suggest visual spaces and environments. The resulting scenes are captured and processed by computer and then projected onto a screen. — Lafontana Formas Animadas
