Sinopse

This is a diptych inspired by Pedro Gil and Raquel Castro's first five years as parents. Together with Miguel Castro Caldas, came up with three characters: a daughter, a father and a mother. In the first part (2016), the daughter played packages with her parents, and she lost their parents every time and ended up living in a house with a couple who adopted her. One day, asleep in her room, she overheard her parents arguing and dreamt they had financial troubles and were going to abandon her, to cut costs. In the dream, the daughter was adopted by a couple who raised her and loved her in exactly the way her father and her mother raised her and loved her in reality. — Miguel Castro Caldas, Pedro Gil and Raquel Castro

Miguel Castro Caldas writes and stages theatre plays. He worked as dramaturge in several plays, occasionally translates, and teaches theatre, literature and martial arts. He won an honourable mention in 2005 for his work as dramaturge from the Portuguese Association of Theatre Critics and the 2017 Portuguese Society of Authors Award for Best Staged Portuguese Text with Se eu vivesse tu morrias [If I Were Living You’d Be Dead]. Some of his texts have been translated into Cantonese, Spanish, French, Hungarian, English and Italian.

Pedro Gil has been making theatre since 1999. He performs, writes, stages, researches and produces. As a director, he highlights the plays Don Juan Esfaqueado na Avenida da Liberdade [Don Juan Stabbed on Liberty Avenue] and O Inesquecível Professor [The Unforgettable Professor]. He is one of the artistic directors of Razões Pessoais.

Raquel Castro has a degree in theatre from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (2008) and a degree in nursing (2004). Cardoso, Mónica Calle, Rui Pina Coelho, Tónan Quito and Tiago Rodrigues.
