Sinopse
JOANA COUTO / IF ONLY THIS WAS ABOUT FOOD
If only this was about food is a social confession piece about inherent longings, focusing on their relation to compulsion. The entire process is an intuitive experience similar to the uncontrollable aspect of desire. Everything is about food, eating, consumption and compromise, but also about everything else not mentioned. It stems from empiricism and seeks to be induced by the audience. The piece presents itself as being in the limbo be-tween consciousness and the desire for ingenuity. — Joana Couto
JOANA COUTO started her journey at the Ginasiano Dance School where she studied for 15 years and graduated in dance in 2017. She took intensive courses at Carte Blanche and Malandain Ballet Biarritz. She furthered her studies for another year at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands. She has been working with the dance company Kale since 2015 and participated in the last project by Companhia Instável, TIMBER. She also worked with several choreographers, such as Hélder Seabra, Roberto Olivan, Christine Hassid, Gilles Baron, Eldad Ben-Sasson and Elisabeth Lambeck.

If we exist now, we’re here. The after does not mat-ter, because it comes after. What is here and what is there? Destiny does not exist without the start, and there is no start with-out a destiny. The start is the destiny. If they’re the same place, what is there in the middle? The escape. Everything and nothing. Us and the others. We live in a loop... Always on the run. We make asses of ourselves, ignoring we’re running to the place from where we came.We drag time and generate wind as we pass by. All that happens when we go from here to there is collateral beauty...
MARGARIDA GARCEZ started her journey at the Vale do Sousa Dance Conservatory. She had training in classical ballet, contemporary dance, modern jazz and musical theatre.
