Quintas de Leitura

This session draws inspiration from a verse by António Ramos Rosa and brings together on stage two fulminating poets: José Carlos Barros and Renato Filipe Cardoso. They’ll talk with Minês Castanheira, who’s also a poet and the driving force behind the Bairro dos Livros collective. The voices of Emília Silvestre and Sandra Salomé shall go through bright moments from the work of the invited poets. Mariana, a Miserável provides the session with an image, emphasising the liberating power of words. As far as the usual new circus number goes, Lia Vilão will surprise us with a breathtaking performance. There had to be music in this poetic evening, and the musical and aesthetic elegance of Best Youth, as well as the enchanting sound of Frankie Chavez, light up the night. An absolute premiere in this poetic series, vibrant guitarist Francisco Berény Domingues, from Porto, will open the session. A hazardous, torrential, liquid evening. — João Gesta
