Sinopse
When hot it is perfectly malleable and easy to mould. Standing at the centre of the stage, Stéphanie Félix invites us into her study: a factory of wax beings all resembling each other. Her desire to arrange those beings in need of storage and organisation on stage will provide her with a taste of power. But wax tends to escape from her, even to go against her and defy her commands, which greatly upsets her. In spite of favouring order and what she’s familiar with, she ends up learning about the delights of disorder and the surprise of the unexpected. “Wax” raises a series of questions: How to leave the mould? To what extent are we able to define our free will? How can our identity surprise its own contours beyond social canons?
Renaud Herbin is a puppeteer with a degree from the National School of Puppetry Arts Charleville-Mézières. He co-directed the company LàOù. His plays have a strong visual and sound nature, and in most cases he executes them himself, although he always favours artistic collaborations. He’s been the director of the Young Audience Theatre – National Drama Centre of Alsace-Strasbourg since 2012, working out the relation between body, object and image, deconstructing it and establishing a connection with performing and visual arts.
