Rezzett

In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the band Rezzett arrive at Understage to present one of the most striking and exuberant sounds in the recent history of dance music. In 2013, when the first uploads of their music appeared on the YouTube channel, a part of the London music scene was trying to identify who these enigmatic Rezzett were. Its exuberant analog lo-fi sound that distorted techno and jungle beats was defining a new, influential, and informed approach to dance music that sounded as familiar to us as it was innovative. It took a few years to discover the origin of their familiarity. After close listening and occasional leaks, it was revealed that Rezzett was a duo consisting of two English music icons, Jackson Bailey (Tapes) and Luke Blair (Lukid). Throughout this period, between singles, albums and mixtapes, we listened to a dozen editions on Will Bankhead's renowned label The Trilogy Tapes, remixes for artists such as Bendik Giske and Omar Souleyman and collaborations with brands such as Cav Empt, Palace, Puma and Human Made. On Understage, surrounded by a dense fog and new songs, this emblematic duo will provide pleasant experiences to listen to and even better, to expand the pleasures of the dance movement.
