Sinopse
The crowds consume themselves as hors d'oeuvre, as a starter or a garnish. Those who put stains on their ties generally make delicious pâtés.
— Roland Topor
Capital Canibal is an anachronistic, permanently short-circuited stage machine. Despite the efforts of its operators, themselves food and fuel, the product is always faulty, redundant, useless. Set in a place somewhere between the conference, the assembly of attractions with puppets and automatons and the vaudeville show, Capital Canibal is a performance for the strongest stomachs and the most refined palates, but at the same time very inclusive, because even the worst parts can be savoured. — Sonoscopia & Teatro de Ferro

Author's bio text
Sonoscopia is an association for the creation, production and promotion of artistic and educational projects, centred on the areas of experimental music, sound research and its transdisciplinary intersections. Since its creation in 2011, it has produced more than 700 events, artistic creations, educational activities and publications in various parts of the world.
Teatro de Ferro was founded in 1999 under the artistic direction of Carla Veloso and Igor Gandra. The name implies a notion of primordial matter that is resistant and at the same time mutable: a process of transformation that remains inspirational. The company's work has been developed mainly in the field of puppet and object theatre - it is part of a logic of research in which the puppet assumes a fundamental value in its possible, tentative and tempting hybridisations. The relationship between the performer-body and the manipulated object-world and the involvement of each spectator in the construction of this relationship are lines of reflection that span TdF's extensive artistic practice. Since 2003, Teatro de Ferro has been funded by: Ministério da Cultura/Direcção-Geral das Artes.
