Sinopse
F2M2M2F X 6 • This is an unfolding of the performance “F2M2M2F” designed for 12 artists, six cisgender men and six cisgender women, all dressed in a way contrary to the clothing standards seen as ideal within a heteronormative, binary mind-set. Divided into six pairs, each artist kisses his own image reflected in a double-sided mirror non-stop for an hour and always moving about.
Estar a par [Coupled] • By putting on the same pair of shoes that fit four feet, I propose to spend two hours continuously interacting with my husband Paulo Aureliano da Mata, with whom I will silently cover the entire area defined for this action. The object’s design forces our bodies to face one another and our steps to look like those of a couple’s dance. Over the course of this interaction, we explore the variations in our physical and mental states together until the end of the set time.
Tales Frey (Brazil, 1982) is a cross-disciplinary artist and art critic. His works find shelter in both visual and performing arts. He speculates on ritual, body and performativity both in his scholar research in the scope of his studies (graduate, master’s, doctorate and post-doctorate degrees) and in his creative practice presented in over twenty countries. Tales is a founding member of Cia. Excessos and of the e-magazine Performatus
