Sinopse
ARUS FEMIA (whose translation from Guinean Creole to Portuguese is “female rice”) is inspired by Guinean women whose hair would become storehouses of ancestral wisdom — human, botanical, spiritual. In the New World, women shook their heads and the seeds that fertilized the earth were released from their hair.
ARUS FEMIA, an inexorable tactography carried out by performers or irans (spirits/divinities) or kankurans (guardian spirits of initiation rituals) or humanphibians, a performance or a spell that is carried out in solemnity, where dystopian scenarios are obsolete mirages. — Zia Soares

Author's bio text
Zia Soares is a director and actress who works between Africa and Europe. In her practice she obsessively experiments with the construction of new dramaturgy that is rooted in poetics of divergent oralities and (in)corporealities. Recent stagings include Pérola sem Rapariga [Girl Without Pearl], co-produced by Sowing_arts, TNDM and apap – FEMINIST FUTURES, and O Riso dos Necrófagos [The Laughter of Scavengers], her own creation, co-produced by Teatro GRIOT and Culturgest, and distinguished with the Teresa Pomodoro International Prize (Italy) for Best Performance 2021/2022.
