Leonardo Ferreira

This is the story of a being that borders what one defines as a male figure, coming from an unusual attendance and a past experienced at the current time. Time unfolds over itself, and the perception of it does not retain the chronological order of the word. Errance means to wander; it is about a partly endless trajectory, a dense and hypnotic atmosphere. The pole as a means of teleportation enables one to access the space. Chance meets burlesque in a subtle presence. Absurd and tragic consequences degenerate dance and acrobatic gesture, which is the result of conflicts introduced by the dialogue between body and matter. — Leonardo Ferreira


LEONARDO FERREIRA (1992) was born in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2008, he joins the Performing Arts School (Chapitô) in Lisbon, where he perfects the art of juggling and explores other disciplines such as dance and acrobatics. In 2013, he joins the Rosny Circus School, where he specialises in acrobatics and the Chinese pole. In 2015, he starts a higher education at the National Centre for Circus Arts in Châlons-en-Champagne, where he develops a language that explores the acrobatic relation with the object and has a distinctive cinematic nature. In 2019, Erva Daninha invites him to perform in/co-create Vão [Gap]. He also co-created Wake Up!, a performance designed for public places, and performed for Cie 111 in Plan B.
