Accessibility

Access to buildings and events

In this website, in each event of the programme, we identify the performances and activities whose access isn’t the most equitable one for people with reduced mobility, namely those needing to use wheelchairs.

In case you’re someone with reduced mobility and wish to watch those performances or take part in those activities, please e-mail us at bilheteira.tmp@agoraporto.pt.

For a better visit to our theatres, we also recommend you watch the visual stories available below. Whenever possible, in this programme or on our website, we indicate other useful information such as the use of strobe lights. We try not to include more detailed information, so as not to reveal too much of what takes place on stage. Given that we want as many people as possible to have a good experience in the room, however, if you’re extremely sensitive to light, sound or any other component of a performance, you may request further information at bilheteira.tmp@agoraporto.pt.

Our theatres have relatively quieter and less busy areas. Feel free to look for a more isolated place if necessary. Don’t hesitate to ask our team to help you find and use those places.

Portuguese Sign Language Interpretation (PSLI)

In the sessions, the text in Portuguese, and occasionally in English, will be interpreted in Portuguese Sign Language (PSL).

Our goal is for the on-stage interpretation to be accessible in the most integrated manner possible. In some sessions, however, PSL interpretation may be located on the side of the stage, given the characteristics of the performance.

Audio Description

Audio description renders some performances more accessible to people with sight impairment. It consists in describing the visual content of the piece live, resorting to individual headphones. If you need or wish to try out audio description, ask the ushers in the room for headphones.

In these sessions, usually one hour prior to the start of the performance, there will be a preliminary recognition of the stage with Franco Acesso for people with sight impairment. The session of Um Quarto Só Para Si, by silentparty, will have Audio Description by José Gregório Rojas / Dançado com a Diferença. You can also request information on the performance in braille at our ticket offices.

Please contact our ticket office in advance to participate in these moments. The same goes in case you bring a service animal with you.

According to Decree-Law no. 74/2007 of March 27, you may bring a service animal with you, including into the performance room. Its badge must be clearly visible, and you may be asked its ID card, so please keep it with you.
