Guilherme de Sousa & Pedro Azevedo

The starting point of FINISSAGE, by Guilherme de Sousa and Pedro Azevedo, is the universe of the Museum of Contemporary Art—a limitless, irreverent, provocative and sensory setting that triggers reactions and behaviours that are different and peculiar in nature. The aim is to look at the recognition and analysis of protocols and behavioural patterns necessarily associated with a museum.
FINISSAGE is an extension or continuation of the project VERNISSAGE, which began in 2019.


Guilherme de Sousa and Pedro Azevedo met in 2014 and have collaborating professionally since 2016. Their work covers fine arts and performing arts, and they have a special interest in theatre, dance and installation. Their artistic research has always focused on the attention and special interest paid to the beauty of the ordinary, and of mundane life and its places, people and situations. Among their works stand out Lágrimas de Crocodilo [Crocodile Tears], Contramolde [Counter-mould], Apartamento [Apartment] and Horto – Uma Forma que vem do Toque [Horto – Form from Touch]. They were Teatro Municipal do Porto’s young associated artists for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.
