FIMP 2023

Memory, image, and manipulation. fimp'23's programme, in its plurality, articulates possible combinations between these concepts. The subjective experience of life happening in a world that is always in motion has inspired the creation of some of the shows that will be presented. Remembering and forgetting, evoking and reconstructing, updating – all of these are memory functions that operate based on the creation and manipulation of images. At this year’s festival, it is also in the encounter of each one of us with History, as a process of social and political transformation, that we are questioned.

In this multiplicity of creative acts in which image and manipulation meet, we will have films created in real time, smoke and mirror illusions, manipulation of sensitive documents, performative games based on individual and collective biographies, stage machines, digital and analogue puppets. At fimp'23 there will be shows (including many a world premiere), performances, exhibitions, concerts, meetings, and celebrations.
