Sinopse

Memória [Memory] is a project whose goal is to study that which makes us humans: the ability to imagine and create realities that change and shape the experiences of every individual. It is a brief analysis of the strange nature of our conscience.
The idea is to present the complexity of the brain and its “disorders” in a natural way, in order to demystify them, using contemporary circus to address them.
Learning to control one’s impulses, emotions and all that comes from the imaginary world of each human being is not an easy task, but a battle that one fights day after day.
Could it be possible to learn to take advantage of human “disorders”? Who knows, everyone’s small “disorder” may be a super power.

Mauricio Jara is an artist and teacher who specialises in handstands. He was born in Costa Rica, where he worked until 2017 as an independent artist and with the circus company Punto Muerto. He currently lives in Portugal, teaching handstands and acrobatics, and performing in several productions.

Bruno Machado attended Chapitô’s Professional School of Performing Arts and Crafts in Lisbon, the FLIC circus school in Italy, and the National Centre for Circus Arts of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama in the United Kingdom. He was part of several contemporary circus projects, having worked with José C. Garcia, Clara Andermatt and Max Reinert, among others. He is the artistic director an co-founder of Cia Umpor1 and INAC –National Institute of Circus Arts. He organises and runs the CUPULA Circus Village Festival since 2017.
