Rentrée 23/24
The opening weekend of the 2023/2024 TMP season begins with two distinct scenographies.
We start with a spinning meditation on Praça D. João I, an attempt to find beauty, stillness, and serenity amidst the rush of the city with CollettivO CineticO & Alessandro Sciarroni.
It is followed by the presentation of Gust9723 and a floor completely covered in soil – mounds and mounds of it (Francisco Camacho)! With this gaze towards the ground, we both mark the path we’ve taken, and assess ways to forward in the varying notions of time in Francisco Camacho's work: participating in a masterclass with André Lepecki; diving into the documentary Gust – Os Ensaios, by Pedro Duarte; experimenting, outside, the choreographer's movements in a Warm-up with Rina Marques.
During these days, we also go down to the Understage of Teatro Rivoli, to meet the melodic, transcendent and dreamlike universes of Inês Malheiro and Marlene Ribeiro, in an Understage in partnership with Lovers & Lollypops.
To celebrate what's to come and experience collective joy, there's a double party: on Saturday, Matilde Castro opens the dancefloor of the TMP Café (Rivoli) after the performance of Gust9723; then we go up Rua Passos Manuel towards Maus Hábitos for a night of Hollaback.
