Sinopse
The Finnish word “löyly” refers to the vapor that is obtained when water hits hot stones, evoking a state of transition, a blurred threshold, a spirit that fades and dissipates heat. In this workshop led by Chilean artist Javiera Peón-Veiga and the rest of the team from the HAMMAM performance, each person is invited to participate in a collective bath. Experiencing the scenic device present in the piece, steam, temperature and sound are the guides in this healing practice, through touch, movements and medicinal properties and the transmutation of bodily materials. The project explores water vapor and sound as environmental bodies, means of contact and affectation, investigating bathing as a collective phenomenon of purification, transformation and regeneration.

Author's bio text
Javiera Peón-Veiga is a choreographer, researcher, performer and manager. In her creations, she proposes immersive experiences that question the limits between the inside and outside of bodies. She is one of the founders of NAVE, Centro de Creación y Residencia, in Chile.
Rodrigo Sobarzo is a choreographer, performer and sound creator. He investigates non-direct hybrid forms of communication, incorporating technologies such as remote sensing and Archaeoastronomy. In recent years, he has delved into the dramaturgy of sound and music's inherent connection with subcultures or urban-digital countercurrents.
Claudio Muñoz is a doctor and performer. He has collaborated with Javiera Peón-Veiga since 2014 on several projects. He is interested in the intersections between dance and science and in the deepening of psychosomatic and phenomenological states in relation to the sensitive body.
Antonia Peón-Veiga is an architect and architectural lighting designer, in addition to collaborating on several performing arts projects as a lighting designer.
