“Brother” is a creation for six performers that establishes a relationship of complementarity with the previous work “Hu(r)mano”.
In both works, the focus is dance existing in a group context, but they part company in time references and in processes of composition. “Brother” is constructed through constant mimicry between the performers, generating movement, behaviours and patterns. A non-verbal vocabulary is developed that is regenerated and transformed over time through the compromises or unblockings that individually each one displays. “Brother” is also an uncomfortable “bother”, an attempt at common pulsation, a sense of belonging and affection, an echo of external forces and, essentially, an assumed fragility through the observation of loss and finitude.

Marco da Silva Ferreira worked with choreographers such as André Mesquita, Hofesh Shechter, Sylvia Rijmer, Tiago Guedes, Victor Hugo Pontes, Paulo RIbeiro, among others. As a choreographer he made his debut in 2012 with "Nevoeiro 21" and, since then, he has presented several performances, his last, "Hu(r)mano" (2014) having been given the "Young Portuguese Creator 2015" award.
