Sinopse
Dance piece for a quartet of performers on roller-skates, approaching states of detonation and death drive. Addressing an explosive contemporaneity, simultaneously physical and technological, the choreographic composition is based on spatial organization devices, related to speed sports, where the use of prostheses (roller-skates), allows access to the physicality that involves risk and accident. The plastic dimension of the gesture, proposes the articulation of a group of dancers in a being of apparent impossibility, equipped with moods, desires and libido, projecting the body to an extreme otherness and opening the ground for fiction.
CABRAQIMERA is a project created in connection with the POROMECHANICS exhibition.
CATARINA MIRANDA has been developing and presenting creative projects mainly for the stage, working with languages that intercept dance, voice, scenography and light, approaching the body as a vehicle for hypnagogic transformation and awareness of the present. In her career stand out pieces such as Dream is the Dreamer, Boca Muralha, Mazezam and Reiposto Reimorto, presented between Palais de Tokyo/Paris, Fundação de Serralves, Theâtre de Liège, DDD – Festival Dias da Dança, Materiais Diversos, Pays de Danses. She finished her master’s degree EXERCE at ICI-CCN (Montpellier/Fr) and her degree in Visual Arts from FBAUP; she studied NOH Theatre at Kyoto Art Center, Japan. The piece Cabraqimera and the installation Poromechanics are her most recent projects.
