ЯΛ́ЯΛ: Audition for new creation by Catarina Miranda for Companhia Instável

Choreographer Catarina Miranda will create a new piece for Companhia Instável, co-produced by Teatro Municipal do Porto. ЯΛ́ЯΛ addresses the power of collective phenomena, exploring sound vibration, light frequencies and altered states of consciousness through repetition and rhythm.
For this new creation, the choreographer is looking for five performers living in Portugal with high technical, rhythmic and artistic skills in the fields of dance and music. This selection process will give particular importance to the uniqueness of each performer, as well as their willingness to explore the body as a space for ecstatic transformation. Experience with wind instruments will also be a relevant criterion in the selection process.
Each person is invited to prepare a two-minute solo based on rhythm, movement and/or wind.
At the same time, two people will also be selected for an internship to accompany the creation process. Selection will be based on professional experience, a video presentation and a letter of motivation.
The selected candidates will be invited to take part in a face-to-face audition in Porto and will receive all the information about the conditions by email.
Catarina Miranda has been developing creative projects based on fictional discourses, whose languages intersect dance, voice, scenography and light, approaching the body as a vehicle for hypnagogic transformation and awareness of the present. Her projects include ΛƬSUMOЯI, CABRAQIMERA, DREAM IS THE DREAM, REIPOSTO REIMORTO and BOCA MURALHA, presented in various venues across Europe.
