On December 2nd and 3rd, the French collective (LA)HORDE, at the head of the Ballet national de Marseille, presents, for the first time in Portugal, the programme Childs Carvalho Lasseindra Doherty, at Teatro Rivoli. This programme brings together pieces by four artists that represent distinct aesthetics and choreographies, united by their singularities.
It will be presented Tempo Vicino by Lucinda Childs, One of Four Periods in Time (Ellipsis) by Tania Carvalho, Mood by Lasseindra Ninja and Lazarus by Oona Doherty. Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer, Arthur Harel, founders of (LA)HORDE, believe that the chosen artists are inspiring, thought-provoking.
Lasseindra Ninja's Mood sets the tone for the first part of Vogue WK Porto — organized by Vogue PT Chapter (Nala Revlon and Piny 007) — a series of training weekends, talks and parties, attended by several internationally renowned personalities of the ballroom community, aiming to continue the development of Porto’s community, and culminating in the major ball at DDD – Festival Dias da Dança 2023. This first part, which will take place on December 3rd and 4th at CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva, includes four workshops, each dedicated to a category — Arms Control, American Runway, New Way and Vogue Fem — by Wicked Garçon Wang and Faye Revlon Angels.
Lucinda Childs and Tânia Carvalho, creators of Tempo Vicino and One of Four Periods in Time (Ellipsis), respectively, will be evoked in the new chapters of História(s) da Dança [History(ies) of Dance], for the first time on video in TMP’s YouTube channel, in a countdown for the release of Cadernos do Rivoli 10: História(s) da Dança/History(ies) of Dance, at Rivoli's 91st Anniversary, in January 2023.
After the presentation of To Da Bone and Novaciériés, in 2018, at Teatro Rivoli, in DDD – Festival Dias da Dança, and the transmission of Room with a View, on DDD 2021 virtual stage and on RTP, (LA)HORDE / Ballet national de Marseille returns with the programme Childs Carvalho Lasseindra Doherty.
