On September 26th and 27th, Armazém 22 receives another edition of Curtas de Dança. The selected projects are by Beatriz Valentim, Gisela Ferreira, Rodrigo Ribeiro and Yana Suslovets. The Municipal Theater of Porto is a communication partner for this initiative.
Curtas de Dança is an exhibition of short choreographic works, created in 2016 by Kale Companhia de Dança / Armazém 22. The focus of this initiative is the presentation of artistic objects with a strong laboratory aspect, where emerging artists can affirm their vision and test formats as interpreters and creators. Different types of space are also used in Armazém 22 - from black-box to unconventional spaces such as the foyer, bar or studio.
The pieces Nina, by Beatriz Valentim, and #12658, by Gisela Ferreira, and the video-dance works, Ouruboros, by Rodrigo Ribeiro, and ANEXO, by Yana Suslovets, were the projects selected from more than 50 applications.
In 2020, the jury of Curtas de Dança 2020 was composed by Joana Castro, Director of Kale Companhia de Dança, Cristina Planas Leitão, programming assistant at Teatro Municipal do Porto and Inês Negrão, choreography assistant.
The Curtas de Dança takes place on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, 27, at 7 pm, at Armazém 22, in Gaia. The Teatro Municipal do Porto is the communication partner of this year's edition.
