Before we dive into the images and archives that Rosas de Maio explores and sets in motion through cinema and performance, Raquel S. unveils the work — Novas Cartas Portuguesas [New Portuguese Letters] — which serves as the basis for the new work by the Teatro Experimental do Porto (TEP), in collaboration with Luísa Sequeira. A book by Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta and Maria Velho da Costa, released in the last years of the Estado Novo (1972), and which sought the liberation of women through nostalgia and revenge.
