With all on-site activities put on hold since January 14, Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP) strengthens the strategy it disclosed at the start of the 2020/2021 season, presenting part of the January and February programme exclusively online.

Between January 29 and 31, we shall present a video documenting the creation process of Estreito/Estrecho, a project that brings together the oldest Portuguese theatre company, Teatro Experimental do Porto (TEP), and the Chilean theatre company Teatro La María. The video shall be available free of charge here during this period. Also in the scope of this project there will be an online talk with the artists next Sunday, January 31, which will be open to the

public and broadcast on Zoom and on the Facebook pages of TMP and both companies. Prior registration is required by sending an e-mail to paralelo.tmp@agoraporto.pt.

The literary series Quintas de Leitura returns next February 11 at TMP’s online stage. The session is titled O astronauta casou-se por lá [The Astronaut Got Married Over There], and it aims at celebrating the work of two poets from Porto: Filipa Leal and João Habitualmente. It features a contemporary circus performance, by Daniel Seabra and Margarida Montenÿ, and two musical presentations, by Lavoisier and Cachupa Psicadélica. It will be available online at Bilheteira Online (BOL) from February 11 at 10 pm to Sunday 14. Tickets are €4.50.

TMP programme also includes a concert by Conferência Inferno, a trio from Porto comprising Francisco Lima, Raúl Mendiratta and José Miguel Silva, who have just released their debut album, Ata Saturna, featuring the single Ausente [Absent]. Plenty of electronic music with kraut, darkwave and punk rhythms should be expected from this project that is presented in the scope of the Understage series and coproduced by the Lovers & Lollypops label. The concert takes place on February 19 at 10 pm, and it will remain available at BOL for 48 hours. Tickets are €3.50.

On February 25, you’ll be able to watch the premiere of the latest creation by the theatre company Estrutura to TMP’s online stage, F... The performance brings together three female creators, Cátia Pinheiro, Patrícia da Silva and Paula Sá Nogueira, in an exercise that takes their bodies as a starting point to go through several notions of feminism. Originally intended to be presented in a mixed format (on site and online), the piece has been adapted and transformed into a digital artistic object. The performance will be available at TMP’s virtual room on BOL from February 25 to 28. Tickets are €4.50.

The remaining performances and activities scheduled for January and February have been put on hold given the current state of pandemic.
TMP will announce the new dates soon.
Already purchased tickets are valid for the new dates or to watch the performances online (in which case the remaining 50% of the ticket cost will be reimbursed).

To change tickets for the online version of the same performance or for other performances of the current season, or for reimbursement for cancelled performances, you must proceed as follows up to 48 hours after the performance at hand has taken place:
