Sinopse
It is based on an open book, in which the imperceptible world of atmospheres, thoughts and memories are described. Meanwhile, the scene is organized as a model, a naïve game of representations, nice and fragile. An empty stage is presented to the audience, occupied at first only by a screen over which is projected a fragmented narrative journey across ten European cities.
Ten landscapes that head the public towards the darkness and the violent territories of people’s minds. This is followed by a woman’s voice and four performers in movement, their actions not apparently connected to the spoken and/or projected text. The show is presented on an elegant and inoffensive scale, a playroom in which four people are able to make the sense of their actions transcend, deconstructing the dictates of so-called “normal behaviour”. It draws up a behavioural map comprising a polished aesthetic, under which is hidden the wild territory of the mind, a territory of perversion and fear, where moral laws are weak and do not control uncontrolled human character.
El Conde de Torrefiel is a Barcelona-based project, headed by Tanya Beyeler (Switzerland, 1980) and Pablo Gisbert (Spain, 1982). The two studied Theatre and Philosophy are also interested in music and contemporary dance. Indeed they regularly collaborate (in the dramaturgical framework) with dance company La Veronal. As theatre authors, musicians, performers, and video-makers, their creations seek a visual and textual aesthetic wherein theatre, choreography, literature, and the visual arts coexist. The company’s first production 2010 was “La Historia del Rey Vencido por el Aburrimiento” and they have appeared presented their work across Europe.
