Sinopse
This collaboration started in 2005 and is the result of the coming together of two choreographers sharing the same fascination with the iconic piece of music. In “A Love Supreme”, Coltrane and his musicians develop a melodic structure deceitfully simple to allow for a complete—and even complex—freedom to improvise, tearing down the limits imposed for every music recording.
Salva Sanchis was born in 1974. He moved to Belgium in 1995 to study at P.A.R.T.S., becoming one of its first generation graduates. He created around 20 solo and group pieces since 1998, building up a body of work characterised by the dialogue between improvisation and stage vocabulary, always strongly linked to music.
In 1980, after studying dance at the Mudra School in Brussels and the Tisch School of the Arts in New York, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (who was born in 1960) created “Asch”, her first choreographic work. Two years later, she premiered “Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich”. She founded the Rosas company in 1983, in Brussels, while working on “Rosas danst Rosas”. Her choreographies have ever since been seen as means to explore the existing relation between dance and music.
