Parallel Warm-Up with Aura da Fonseca

Dancing is how we understand each other: before we watch a performance, it’s time for Aquecimento Paralelo [Parallel Warm-Up] with Aura da Fonseca. In this activity, we wear comfortable clothes, and discover, through experimenting and dancing, what we will see on stage. 

AURA (1997, Porto) is an artist, dancer, and performer who uses slow movement, sensorial scenography, unique garments, and mesmerising audio-visuals to explore gender issues and sustainability. Her work has been showcased internationally across Portugal, Poland, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. It includes collaborations with the renowned choreographer Raimund Hoghe in “Momentos of Young People” (2018-2020) presented at Teatro Rivoli and Montpellier Danse, and with the composer Alessandro Bosetti in “Acqua Sfocata” (2017) at Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. Holds a master's degree in Performance Making by Goldsmiths, University of London. Graduated in Fine Arts and Intermediate by Escola Superior Artística do Porto. Attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk under the Erasmus programme. Participated in several workshops and programmes with over 30 international creators in areas such as Architecture, Visual Arts, Dance, Design, Music, Performance, and Theatre. She has been supported and awarded by Porto City Council, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, GDA Foundation, Portuguese Youth Foundation, ESAP, DGES, and Santander Universities.
