Legendary Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart leaves a theater and heads to Sardi's. The date is March 31, 1943, opening night of the musical Oklahoma!, by his former writing partner Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. At the party that night, Hart faces the decline of his career... Capturing this singular moment, Blue Moon is a meditation on love, friendship, and art in Richard Linklater's typical tone, between lightness and melancholy.
