Sinopse

“A traveller walks back and forth, filled with doubts: unable to distinguish the points of the city, the points he keeps distinct in his mind begin to blur.” — Italo Calvino

LUGARES is a journey that begins with what we think we know and moves towards the pleasure of the unknown. We travel inside and outside the buildings, between memory and fiction, always with a performative vanishing point that translates each space and the people who inhabit it. The audience is invited to become a companion on this journey of closeness and celebration. LUGARES traverses the almost invisible spaces of Teatro Rivoli. The performance is the result of the encounter between professional artists forming the Colectivo Espaço Invisível, the TMP team, and the local senior community, who throughout the process celebrated Rivoli as a source of inspiration. — Colectivo Espaço Invisível

Author's bio text

The Colectivo Espaço Invisível emerged at the end of 2018 as an organised structure, the result of a series of collaborations between different artists. The invisible is defined by what cannot be touched, by what cannot be seen. It is also defined by the knowledge acquired by the artists involved — both amateur and professional — through each moment of sharing and encounter, arising from deep dialogues and readings of the contexts in which the projects or programmes take place.

Daniela Cruz is a performer, creator and teacher in contemporary dance. She holds a degree in Contemporary Dance from Codarts. As a performer, she has collaborated with André Braga and Cláudia Figueiredo / Circolando, Cristina Planas Leitão, Joana Providência, Jonathan Uliel Saldanha and Catarina Miranda, Madalena Victorino, Marco da Silva Ferreira, Nuno M Cardoso, Sofia Dias and Vítor Roriz, and Victor Hugo Pontes. She has collaborated in various capacities with Instável – Centro Coreográfico. She has created works for Companhia K2, CITAC, Kale Companhia de Dança, Grupo Teatro do Bonfim, among others. Together with Nuno Preto, she co-created projects aimed at young audiences. She has taken part in several participatory projects as co-artistic director, produced by Colectivo Espaço Invisível.

Nuno Preto is a theatre director, writer, actor and musician. He graduated from the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE). He was a founding member, actor, director and playwright of Mau Artista. Since 2012, he has been a resident member of Teatro da Palmilha Dentada. From 2017 to 2020, he collaborated with Teatro Oficina as trainer, actor and director. He has also collaborated with Museu do Porto as an associate creator in the programmes ESCUTA and DERIVA, and in the coordination and content creation of Rádio Estação. He coordinated the programme COM[POSIÇÃO] DO AR for Braga27. In cinema, he works as both actor and acting coach in various film productions. Together with Daniela Cruz, he founded Colectivo Espaço Invisível, a structure dedicated to artistic creation and cultural mediation.
