Sinopse

La luz de un lago immerses the spectator in the imaginary of a film that is sustained through stage, words and presence. The plot of this performance is woven by the fragments of life of characters who live in different places and times. The stories appear and disappear in the deep water of time. La luz de un lago is about love, work and violence in a world that visually collapses between mirages and hallucinations. With an innovative staging that challenges the limits of language and theatrical conventions, this performance invites the audience to witness a chain of invoked images from an abstract and sophisticates aestethic that uses scenographic walls, projected text, voice-overs and an immersive sound composition. — El Conde de Torrefiel

Author's bio text

The works of El Conde de Torrefiel (Tanya Beyeler and Pablo Gisbert) are characterized by stagings where choreography, text and images converge to create unusual and fragmented narratives where the tensions between the individual and the collective that characterize European society in the 21st century come to the surface and materialize on stage in a surprising way. El Conde de Torrefiel began their professional career in 2010 and have since produced 13 pieces, 8 unconventional or site-specific stage works, and have also published texts of the company's works: in Spanish with Editorial La Uña Rota and in French with Actualité Editions in Paris. El Conde de Torrefiel's creations have been presented in theatres and festivals in America, Asia and especially in Europe, including the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, the Wiener Festwochen in Vienna, the Festival d'Automne in Paris, the GREC Festival in Barcelona, the Short Theatre in Rome, the MMCA in Seoul (Korea), the Museo del Chopo in Mexico DF, the Festival Transámerique of Montréal and the Festival d'Avignon, among others. El Conde de Torrefiel occasionally holds workshops, laboratories and seminars in centres such as the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, the Master in Thinking and Scenic Creation in Valladolid or the Master in Performing and Visual Arts at University of Venice.
