Sinopse
“Quantum” is the result of an artistic residence at the world’s largest particle physics laboratory: CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. During his residency, the Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin learned that we all float in space but that gravity is the weakest force in the universe – something of a shock for a contemporary dancer and choreographer whose work is focused, to a largeextent, on contact with the ground. Under the banner of Higgs Boson, this coming together took the form of a high-energy artistic collision. Artists in the midst of scientists, the choreographer and visual artist fully immersed for months in a universe of numbers and abstractions. Composed of four lamps swinging in a constant circular motion, the installation highlights the main laws of physics and responds to imperceptible fluctuations. The dancers and the lights merge into a peculiar object, mixing dance, visual art and science into an unmissable spectacle.
