Girls Will Be Girls

The first film from director Shuchi Talati, and the film debut of Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron, it is a coming-of-age drama that follows the story of 16-year-old protagonist Mira and her discovery and exploration of her sexuality. Set in a boarding school located in the outskirts of the Himalayas, Mira meets the young Sri, with whom she falls in love. While her attraction to Sri offers her the excitement and rebellion she craves, it simultaneously complicates her relationship with her mother, who has never been able to experience that same freedom.
