Sinopse
In this piece, everyday life and performance come together. The intention is to thin the line as much as possible between these two elements that are seen in parallel. The game turns these notions from specific to abstract to completely absurd. We want to draw inspiration from reality to go to a place that does not exist and to play with a notion that is common to everyone: time.
Performer, spectator, each individual plays his or her part. The status is not defined by a role, but by the actions taken. The area of the stage is not set by its edges, but by each one’s perception and by imagination. The differences concerning cultures and languages transpire on the creation of the three personas on stage. Their unique character leads them to find their way toward a common goal, Mellow Yellow - thus establishing an osmosis between the three complementary universes.
Juri Bisegna, Ottavio Stazio e Ricardo S. Mendes are three artists with different trainings (circus, dance and theatre), but sharing the same artistic vision. They created Mellow Yellow together, which enabled them to expand their vocabulary, leading them beyond the limits of their artistic fields. They believe a work of art/performance is not limited to a single artistic field. The collective’s drive is to free creation by breaking down the boundaries between all arts, pushing every artist to find and collaborate with others.
The LESCOPYCATS collective sees art as a set of carefully masterminded details.
