MULTIPLEX 2017: VICTOR ERICE

The cycle brings some of the Madrid director’s most representative films, opening, in his presence, with “El espíritu de la colmena” (1973). The programme favours a chronological reading of an unusual oeuvre characterised by humanism and a contemplative outlook, developed over the course of four decades up to the short “Cristales Rotos”, produced in the context of Guimarães 2012 – European Capital of Culture and dedicated to the closure of one of the largest textiles factories in Vale do Ave. Víctor Erice was a member of the jury at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and was awarded a lifetime achievement Leopard at the 67th Locarno International Film Festival in 2014.
