Filmed at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, NAZA reveals the mechanisms behind Israel’s bombardment of Gaza and the massacre of Palestinian civilians. Directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the four co-directors of the 2024 Oscar-winning Best Documentary, No Other Land, the film was also executive produced by Jonathan Glazer, the director of The Zone of Interest (2023). The title “NAZA” derives from a military acronym used euphemistically by the Israeli secret services to indicate the number of civilians expected to be killed in an air strike, which they refer to as “collateral damage”.

The film is based on revelations first published by the Israeli-Palestinian magazine +972, the Hebrew-language website Local Call and The Guardian between 2023 and 2025. Following the Venice Film Festival, where it had its world premiere in competition and received a standing ovation lasting 24 minutes as well as the Special Jury Prize, NAZA was selected for several festivals, including San Sebastián and New York, and is set to be released in cinemas in around 60 countries. — Medeia Filmes
