Sinopse
Primavera proposes a critical reflection on contemporary cycles of social mobilisation, taking as reference pivotal events such as the Arab Spring and the Chilean Social Outburst. The work seeks to investigate the contradictory impulses that ran through popular protests: on one hand, the emergence of dreams of collective emancipation; on the other, the rise of regressive forces, including the advance of the far right and the strengthening of authoritarian governments. By exploring this duality, the performance poses a provocative question: are we witnessing the failure of revolutions, or the emergence of a new model of social transformation, marked by fragmented forms of resistance? — Pedro Vilela & Alexis Moreno / TREMA!

Author's bio text
Alexis Moreno (Santiago, 1977) is one of the most prominent figures in the contemporary Chilean theatre scene. Founder of the company Teatro La María, he has distinguished himself through provocative and politically engaged works, exploring themes such as violence, identity, social decay, and power. His plays have marked a generation and established him as one of the leading renovators of post-dictatorship Chilean dramaturgy. Recognised as a reference in both the study and practice of contemporary Latin American theatre, his work has gained international recognition, touring festivals and stages across Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Pedro Vilela (Recife, 1985) is a Brazilian director, researcher, and curator whose career, spanning Brazil and Portugal, is distinguished by fostering transnational dialogues in the performing arts. For ten years, he worked as a director at Grupo Magiluth, a benchmark of contemporary Brazilian theatre. He later developed TREMA!, a platform that brings together his artistic creations, two festivals — the Trema! Festival and Quilombo_Trema! — and a publication dedicated to critical reflection on performing arts. His works have been presented in numerous countries across South America, North America, and Europe, consolidating an active and expanding international trajectory. He currently resides in Porto, where he collaborates with institutions such as TEP – Teatro Experimental do Porto, CRL – Central Elétrica, and FITEI – Festival Internacional de Teatro de Expressão Ibérica.
