Rita Calçada Bastos

This is a project that starts from Rita Calçada Bastos and that, through a work of writing and dramaturgy, intends to establish a dialogue of assumptions and conjectures between a Nina stolen from the Seagull, by A. Chekov and the imaginary of the actress herself. There's also the presence of Tennessee Williams' "The Notes of Trigorin," written from Chekov's The Seagull. What would have happened to Nina if she hadn't gone to live in Moscow for a hotel room given over to the delusions of this passion for Trigorin? How do our choices influence where we are? This show proposes to reflect, through a solo exercise, the limit between theatrical fiction and reality, the universe of choices and their practical consequence and the layers of representation themselves: the character who is trapped in the theater and an actress who wants to save her.
