Tânia Carvalho

In direct resonance with onironauta (2020), Madmud immerses the audience in choreographer and performer Tânia Carvalho’s musical and poetic sphere. Through song and piano, she distils captivating fluidity that imparts waves of melancholy and saturnine tumult.


Tânia Carvalho was born in Viana do Castelo, in 1976, and lives in Lisbon. As a choreographer, she has a career of more than twenty years. Tânia has had a regular presence in theaters, festivals and artistic residencies, both in the national and international contexts. Among her musical projects stand out Madmud, Idiolecto and dubloc barulin. In 2021, she started the Papillons d'éternité project with Matthieu Erhlacher. She received the Programa Jovens Criadores [Young Creators Program] 2000 award, with Inicialmente Previsto, and was also awarded the Best Choreography Award from the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores [Portuguese Society of Authors] with Icosahedron (2012) and onironauta (2021).
