Sinopse
NU arise from the clash between rock and the dense universe of industrial music. Their sound has a rough, mechanical pulse that sides with literature and poetry to propel a performing, image-creating attitude. They were born in 2016, in Santo Tirso. After two EP, 2010 witnesses the release of their debut album Diferentes Formas da Mesma Areia Morta, which was recorded live. Guided by excerpts from writer Thomas Pynchon, the voice echoing in the three tracks conveys the loss of humanity, technological alienation, fear, loneliness, psychosis, and ferocious and widespread competition that boost the atmosphere of decay hanging over Western civilisation. In the words of Pynchon, “a world more and more on a collision course with the inanimate”. The soundscapes arise from the clash between this same world and the ordinary individual, an inner collapse of meaning and a silent invasion of emptiness.
