Sinopse

When researching the word Multiverse, it is concluded that it is used to describe a set of possible universes, including the one in which we find ourselves. A combination and coexistence of several universes and the totality of elements on which they are based, like a musical ensemble, with different musicians from different universes and which together with their differences become a single universe observable at first glance. This concept of multiverse and this parallelism with the musical reality of Porta-Jazz thus serve as the motto for another year of the Association's activity and its pinnacle, or point of arrival and departure, the 14th Porta-Jazz Festival. It is with this motto that Porta-Jazz presents itself in another year of the Festival at the historic Teatro Rivoli, building on and preserving dynamics that have served as a guiding thread throughout these 14 years of life and dedication to jazz in Porto. Fulfilling its aims and motivating principles by providing a local musical environment with a way of communicating with the rest of the world and thus making its existence and growth possible. This allows musicians to establish connections, develop their creations and carry out their work in the form of concerts at Espaço Porta-Jazz, in other parts of the city and the country and at festivals in Europe in partnership with similar movements. Thus, in this 14th edition, the Porta-Jazz Festival once again serves as a major showcase of the musical content that this multiverse produces, such as the Carimbo label, which in this year of exultation, in addition to the concerts of projects published last year, also celebrates the arrival of album number one hundred, with three albums to be released during the Festival. A hundred editions that already tell the story of more than a decade of jazz in Porto and a catalog that clearly and unequivocally reflects this patent musical multiverse.
